Over 300 experts urge UN action over Iran executions

More than 300 prominent international human rights defenders, legal experts, and political activists have sent an open letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres concerning executions in Iran.

Axar.az reports according to the human rights organizations, the signatories warned of a sharp escalation in executions and what they described as a broader pattern of serious crimes in Iran, urging the international community to take immediate action to halt the execution wave.

They further stated that Iranian authorities have intensified internal repression, mass arrests, and torture, while also restricting internet access, allegedly using regional instability since March 1, 2026, as a pretext for increased crackdowns.
