UAE intercepts six UAVs in 48 hours

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has intercepted six hostile unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over a 48-hour period.

Axar.az reports, citing the UAE Ministry of Defense, air Defense systems detected and neutralised the UAVs without any human casualties or damage to vital facilities.

As part of ongoing investigations into the attack on the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant on May 17, 2026, technical tracking confirmed that three UAVs were involved in that incident—two were intercepted, while one struck an electricity generator outside the plant’s inner perimeter. The ministry added that the UAVs, including those intercepted later, all originated from Iraqi territory.

The Ministry of Defense also stated that the UAE reserves its full right to take necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and national security in line with international law, and emphasized the full readiness of its armed forces to respond to any threats.
