8 killed as bus crashes and burns in Turkiye - Video

A passenger bus crashed into roadside barriers and caught fire in the Saraykoy district of Denizli Province, in southwestern Turkiye.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, the incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. local time near Tirkaz Mahallesi on the Aydin–Denizli Motorway.

The bus, operated by Pamukkale Turizm and traveling from Izmir to Antalya, was carrying 38 passengers and 3 crew members when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The crash resulted in 8 fatalities, including the driver and a nine-month-old infant, while 33 people were injured. Rеports indicate that some victims sustained severe burns, fractures, and trauma-related injuries.

Following the impact, the bus caught fire, prompting a large-scale emergency response involving fire crews, medical teams, police, gendarmerie, and disaster response units. Rescuers worked through the night to evacuate passengers and extinguish the flames.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash, with early assessments considering factors such as driver fatigue, speed, mechanical failure, or road conditions.
