Overchuk warns of gas risks for Armenia

A difficult situation regarding gas supplies could arise in Armenia, but Russia is not interested in such a development.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk.

“They [Armenia] only need to look at the map and see which pipelines are already operating there. They will immediately see from whom they will receive Russian gas, taking into account a 30% export duty, market pricing, and the fact that intermediaries will also want their share of income,” the deputy prime minister said.

He noted that under such a scenario, gas for Armenia could become more expensive due to tariffs, market pricing, and intermediary participation.

“That is why there will be a very difficult situation in Armenia. We do not want this,” Overchuk stated.
