Armenia probes vote-buying ahead of election

A candidate from the pro-Kremlin Strong Armenia Party has bribed more than 100 voters ahead of Armenia’s parliamentary elections.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenia’s Investigative Committee, a parliamentary candidate from the Strong Armenia Party, led by Russian-Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan, distributed bribes ranging from $270 to $1,360 to voters in the Artashat community in exchange for their support.

Investigators said that more than 40 people suspected of accepting money for votes have been detained.
