Voting begins in Armenia's parliamentary elections

Parliamentary elections have begun in Armenia.

Axar.az reports that 2,500 polling stations opened across the country at 8:00 a.m. local time.

The Central Election Commission has registered 16 parties and two blocs to participate in the vote.

Polling stations will close at 8:00 p.m. The Central Election Commission is expected to release preliminary results the following day, while final results will be announced no later than seven days later.

According to official data, around 2.5 million citizens are eligible to vote.
