An instructor pilot has been killed and a trainee injured following the crash of a training aircraft in Egypt.

Axar.az reports, citing Egypt Today, that the aircraft belonging to the Egyptian Aviation Academy went down at 6th of October Airport.

Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Sameh Al-Hefni, immediately ordered that the injured trainee receive maximum medical care and continuous monitoring, and wished her a speedy recovery.

He also instructed that an urgent investigation be launched into the causes and circumstances of the crash, tasking the ministry’s Central Administration for Aviation Accidents with leading the probe.
