An Indian Air Force (IAF) AN-32 transport aircraft has crashed at the Air Force Station in Jorhat, Assam, on Saturday morning.

Axar.az reports, citing Times of India, the aircraft went down within the airbase premises while attempting to land, triggering a fire shortly after the impact.

Emergency response teams were immediately deployed to the scene to contain the blaze and assess the situation.

The Indian Air Force confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash. Further details regarding casualties or injuries have not yet been confirmed.

The AN-32 is a twin-engine turboprop military transport aircraft widely used by the Indian Air Force for operations in difficult terrain and extreme weather conditions.
