Nearly 200 families homeless after Philippine fire

A massive fire in Western Bicutan, Taguig City, left nearly 200 families homeless on Saturday morning, after flames tore through a dense residential community and destroyed around 150 houses.

Axar.az reports, citing ABS-CBN portal, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) estimated that about 500 individuals were displaced by the blaze, which rapidly spread through structures mostly built of light materials.

]A Philippine Air Force helicopter was deployed to assist firefighting efforts, conducting repeated water drops over the affected community before the blaze was placed under control at around 12:30 p.m.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, while the Taguig City government has begun assisting displaced families.

No injuries were reported
