Qatari mediators head to Tehran as Iran–US deal nears

Qatari negotiators have traveled to Tehran to help advance final discussions on a potential agreement between Iran and the United States.

Axar.az reports, citing CNN, the delegation, working in coordination with Washington, arrived in Iran on Sunday morning and held consultations with Iranian officials.

The renewed talks come amid conflicting public signals from Tehran and Washington over the timing and content of a potential deal, including when a memorandum of understanding could be signed.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has disputed President Donald Trump’s claim that an agreement would be signed imminently, suggesting the timeline remains unresolved.

Earlier meetings in Tehran this week reportedly included exchanges of draft proposals, with Qatar acting as a key intermediary in efforts to bridge remaining gaps between the parties.
