US and Iran agree to lower uranium enrichment levels

The United States and Iran have agreed to reduce the enrichment levels of Iran’s existing uranium stockpiles.

Axar.az informs that speaking to Al Arabiya, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said Washington had initially sought the removal of Iran’s nuclear material, but the two sides ultimately settled on lowering the level of enrichment instead.

“The United States asked for Iran’s nuclear stockpiles to be removed, but we reached a decision to reduce the enrichment levels,” he said.

Dar added that Iran’s uranium stockpiles remain stored underground and noted that both Washington and Tehran have concluded that diplomacy remains the only viable path forward.
