Israel keeps troops on high alert despite Lebanon ceasefire

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has described the ceasefire declared in Lebanon as “fragile” and ordered troops to maintain a high level of readiness for the resumption of military operations.

Axar.az reports, citing Times of Israel, he made the remarks during a visit to Israeli forces stationed in southern Lebanon.

"The ceasefire that has been declared is fragile, and we must remain at a high level of readiness for the renewal of combat operations, the thwarting of threats, and a rapid transition to offensive action if required. All IDF resources are allocated to this,” he said.
