Two killed in blast at Turkiye ammunition facility

An explosion occurred at an ammunition disposal facility in Turkiye’s Kirikkale province, killing two people and injuring two others.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, the blast took place at the MKE Bedesten Ammunition Storage and Disposal Facility in the Yahsihan district during research and development work.

Officials said a 3.5-inch rocket munition accidentally detonated at the disposal site. Two employees of a private company were killed in the incident, while two other personnel were injured and taken to the hospital.

Their injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.

AFAD, gendarmerie, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene, and authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion.
