UK records hottest June day for second day running

The UK has recorded its hottest June temperature for the second day in a row, with temperatures reaching 36.4°C in Yeovilton, Somerset.

Axar.az reports, citing The Independent, that the new record surpassed Wednesday’s high of 36.1°C and the previous June record set during the 1976 heatwave.

A rare red heat warning remains in place across parts of England, as extreme temperatures disrupt schools, transport and health services. London Ambulance Service reported its highest-ever number of life-threatening emergency calls, linked to the heat.
