Congo confirms 1,274 Ebola cases, 360 deaths

The Democratic Republic ‌of Congo said late ⁠on Sunday that confirmed Ebola cases in the ‌country ⁠had reached 1,274, including ⁠360 deaths.

Axar.az reports, citing Reuters, Ebola viruses normally infect animals, typically fruit bats, but outbreaks among humans can sometimes start when people eat or handle infected animals.

Ebola spreads through direct contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person, including blood, vomit, diarrhoea, saliva, urine, semen and sweat. It can also be transmitted by touching contaminated objects such as needles, bedding or clothing.
