At least three people were injured, two of them seriously, in an explosion at a residential building in Monaco on Monday evening that authorities believe may have been caused by a malicious act.

Axar.az reports, citing Le Figaro, that the blast occurred shortly before 9 p.m. local time on Rue Reverend Pere Louis Frolla near the border with France.

A government spokesperson said at least three members of the same Ukrainian family were injured. The two adults were in critical condition, while a minor sustained less serious injuries.

The explosion occurred shortly afterward as people were entering the building. Authorities have not confirmed whether the victims were specifically targeted.

The suspect remained at large, and an investigation into the incident was underway.

Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolayev, founder of the Alef Corporation, was among three members of a Ukrainian family injured in an explosion at a residential building in Monaco.

According to French media, the victims include Yermolayev, his wife, and their 13-year-old child.

Both parents, who are in their 50s, suffered life-threatening injuries and remain in critical condition, while the teenager sustained less serious injuries and is in stable condition.
