Ukrainian drone carrying explosives crashes in Turkiye

A drone identified by Turkish authorities as originating from Ukraine crashed into a tree and exploded in the rural Vakfikebir district of Trabzon on Wednesday.

Axar.az reports, citing Haberler, that initial technical examinations found that the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was carrying approximately 5 kilograms of explosives. Authorities said the drone exploded after striking a tree in the Acikalan neighborhood.

Officials later determined that the UAV was of Ukrainian origin. The explosion briefly alarmed local residents, but no casualties or injuries were immediately reported.

Security and forensic teams remain at the scene as the investigation into the incident continues.
