Venezuela earthquake death toll rises to 2,295

The death toll from the twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24 has risen to 2,295.

Axar.az reports, citing Venezuela News, that the head of the General Staff for the Creation of Temporary Camps, Jorge Rodriguez, made a statement.

Rodrguez said 26,403 people have been affected by the disaster through injuries, psychological trauma, or damage to their homes. He added that 17,026 patients have received medical treatment, with 4,565 still hospitalized and 13,942 discharged.

Authorities have distributed more than 8 million kilograms of food and established 25 temporary camps across the affected regions.

"We are in the process of equipping temporary camps to open a significant number today, tomorrow, and the day after," Rodriguez said.
