Drone washes ashore on Turkiye’s Black Sea coast

A drone believed to be of military origin has washed ashore on the Black Sea coast near the town of Filyos in Turkiye’s Zonguldak province.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that residents alerted authorities after spotting the unmanned aerial vehicle on the shoreline.

Gendarmerie units quickly secured the area and prevented civilians from approaching the drone, while bomb disposal specialists were dispatched over concerns that it could contain explosives.

An initial assessment indicated that the drone appeared to have a military purpose. Authorities have launched a technical examination to determine its origin and how it reached the Black Sea coast.

No official statement has yet been issued regarding the drone’s country of origin.
