Paul Pelosi faces hit-and-run charge after Napa crash

Paul Pelosi, the husband of former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is facing a hit-and-run charge after striking a parked vehicle and leaving the scene in Napa County, California.

Axar.az reports, citing ABC News, that an eyewitness reported seeing a convertible hit an unoccupied parked car in Yountville on Friday afternoon.

Investigators later identified the driver as the 86-year-old Pelosi.

Pelosi told investigators that he “hit something, but he did not know what he hit so he kept driving.”

The Napa County Sheriff's Office said Pelosi continued driving until his vehicle became disabled.

“He drove the car until his car became disabled and was no longer able to continue driving,” the department said in a statement.

Authorities said an alcohol screening test detected no alcohol in Pelosi's system. He was not arrested, but the case will be referred to the Napa County District Attorney's Office for review.
