Qatar declares national mourning

Qatar has declared four days of national mourning starting July 12 following the death of former Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Axar.az reports, citing the office of the Emir of Qatar, that national flags will be flown at half-mast during the mourning period.

Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani died at the age of 74. He ruled Qatar from 1995 to 2013 before handing over power in 2013 to his son, the current Emir, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani
