Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv will continue diplomatic efforts to push Russia toward negotiations and secure a ceasefire.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that Zelensky made the remarks during a briefing in Kyiv alongside European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

"Every step we take must be guided by our priorities. Our diplomats, along with everyone else, will do everything possible to bring Russia to the negotiating table and secure a ceasefire.

As we head into winter, we must be prepared. We have been preparing for a long time, but our priority is clear — getting ready for winter. That is why, after all the consultations, Serhii Koretskyi is probably the person best prepared to serve as Ukraine's prime minister," he said.
