One killed, 28 injured as storm hits Rostov region

A powerful storm in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don has caused severe damage.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that according to the city's mayor Alexander Skryabin, one person was killed and 14 others were injured as a result of the natural disaster.

The storm and heavy rains disrupted infrastructure operations in several cities across the Rostov region. Power outages were reported in Rostov-on-Don, Azov, Bataysk, Taganrog, and Shakhty.

Water supply problems were also recorded in Novocherkassk.

The number of people injured as a result of strong winds and severe weather in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don has risen to 28.

The city's mayor, Alexander Skryabin, said a state of emergency has been declared in Rostov following the storm.
