Iran denies requesting talks or ceasefire with US

It was the United States, not Iran, that sought negotiations, and Tehran never requested talks or a ceasefire with Washington.

Axar.az reports, citing Iranian media, that Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Iran had sent no request or message to the United States seeking negotiations since the latest round of hostilities began.

"Washington had sent messages over the past 10 days seeking to manage and end the fighting to prevent further military escalation," he said.

The United States halted its renewed strikes on Iran on July 25 after resuming them on July 8.
