A Ukrainian F-16 fighter jet was lost on July 29 while carrying out a combat mission.

Axar.az reports, citing the Ukrainian Air Force Telegram channel, that the pilot was performing a mission to intercept enemy aerial targets on one of the front-line sectors when an abnormal situation occurred aboard the aircraft, forcing him to eject.

The pilot is safe and was successfully evacuated and taken to a medical facility for examination and diagnosis.

Experts and law enforcement officials are working at the crash site. No civilian casualties or damage have been reported.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
