Spain will use all available state resources to restore security in Ceuta following the entry of nearly 50,000 migrants from Morocco, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said.

Axar.az reports, citing El Pais, that Sanchez made the remarks during a visit to the Spanish enclave.

“What happened yesterday was an attack, a violation of Spain's territorial integrity. The Government of Spain will use all the instruments of the state, all available resources, to guarantee the security of the people of Ceuta and the Autonomous City of Ceuta,” Sanchez said.

He added that Spain would continue cooperating with the Moroccan authorities and accelerate the processing and repatriation of migrants who entered the country irregularly.

It should be noted that nearly 50,000 migrants who entered Ceuta have set vehicles on fire, looted shops, and caused chaos in the city’s streets. According to the report, clashes between migrants and security forces have left 18 people dead.
