Explosion hits military unit in Ukraine’s Khmelnytskyi

An explosion has occurred at one of the military units in Ukraine’s Khmelnytskyi region.

Axar.az reports that the information was announced by the Head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, Serhii Tiurin, on his Facebook account.

He said that the causes of the incident are currently being established, adding that all relevant services are working at the scene and a headquarters has been set up.

“There is currently no information about fatalities. Damaged are a number of residential buildings and municipal facilities were damaged,” Tiurin said.

He urged people to avoid speculation and false information, noting that the affected area has been cordoned off and measures have been taken to ensure public safety.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office reported that four servicemen were injured and several others were unaccounted for following ammunition explosions at the site. A criminal investigation was launched into the incident.
