Unfortunately, our warnings are proving to be justified. One of the main areas where the war is spreading is the entire Black Sea. At first, they were targeting only military facilities, ports, and warships. Now, however, they are striking commercial vessels indiscriminately.

Axar.az reports that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made the remarks while commenting on the Russia-Ukraine war.

“This situation is also affecting vessels sailing under the Turkish flag. We are closely monitoring all these vessels. Although the proportion of Turkish vessels targeted is currently somewhat lower compared with other targeted vessels, the situation is nevertheless a serious cause for concern for us.

“We presented several measures regarding this issue to our president, and we are implementing them.

“What I can share with the public is that we called on both sides to establish a mechanism for declaring a moratorium in this area. The Ukrainian side had already made such a request, and we conveyed it to our Russian counterparts. We are currently waiting for their response,” Fidan added.

It should be noted that Ukraine and Russia have carried out strikes on commercial vessels in the Black Sea in recent months.
