Turkish singer Cansever dies at 59

Turkish singer Cansever has died at the age of 59.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that the veteran Arabesque singer, who had been battling leukemia, died at the hospital where she was receiving treatment.

Cansever was diagnosed with leukemia, or blood cancer, last December and underwent a bone marrow transplant in Germany. She became widely known in the 1990s for her Arabesque songs, including “Agla Gozbebegim,” “Sen de Gittin” and “Kime Bu Inat.”
