Epstein used Saint-Tropez as base for sexual crimes

American financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein regularly spent summers in the French resort town of Saint-Tropez, which became one of his main bases for sexual activities and recruitment of young women.

Axar.az reports, citing Le Monde, that Epstein visited the luxury resort almost every year, making it his second-favorite location in France after Paris, where he owned a large apartment.

According to documents from the Epstein case released by the Trump administration in January, photographs from 2002 show Epstein in Saint-Tropez with his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. The images include photographs of very young women, some of them naked.

In the summer of 2002, Epstein and Maxwell rented a villa called Mirage in Saint-Tropez for €100,000 per week, staying there from June 29 to July 20.

Le Monde said the resort, known for attracting celebrities, wealthy individuals and aspiring models, provided Epstein with an environment where he could socialize with potential victims and pursue his sexual crimes.

Epstein died in a US prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.
