2 dead, 12 injured after boat capsizes in New York Harbor

Two people were killed and 12 others rescued with minor injuries after a boat capsized off Liberty Island in New York Harbor on Saturday night.

Axar.az reports, citing ABC News, that the New York Police Department (NYPD) and New York City Fire Department (FDNY) responded to a call about the capsized boat at around 10:30 p.m.

According to the NYPD, a 27-year-old woman and a 5-month-old girl were transported to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, where they were later pronounced dead.

The FDNY said 12 other people were rescued and taken to local hospitals with minor injuries.
