Former US President Joe Biden made his first public appearance since his son Hunter Biden revealed that his prostate cancer had spread to his bones.

Axar.az reports, citing the Daily Mail, that Biden, 83, was seen attending Mass at Saint Joseph on the Brandywine Church in Wilmington, Delaware, on Saturday.

He was escorted by Secret Service agents as he walked to a BMW and spoke with fellow parishioners before leaving.

Hunter Biden said earlier this week that his father's condition had become difficult to watch and that the cancer had metastasized to his bones and elsewhere.

“The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” Hunter said. “It's very painful and it's very debilitating in many respects.”

“It's really sad to watch,” he added. “The only thing that I'd say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it's not good. He is the center of our family... He is our rock.”

Biden was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May 2025, shortly after leaving the White House. He has since undergone radiation and hormone treatment.

Former first lady Jill Biden said in June that her husband would likely live with the disease for the rest of his life.

“I think if he had just been diagnosed with prostate cancer, that’s one thing because that can be cured, but the fact that it metastasized to his bones, that makes it a whole different story,” she said. “So I think Joe will live with cancer till the rest of his life.”
