Ukraine has imposed sanctions on 13 vessels, 11 Russian nationals and 28 legal entities over their alleged involvement in the illegal export of Ukrainian grain from Russian-occupied territories.

Axar.az reports, citing the Ukrainian presidential office, that the sanctioned vessels include eight flying the Russian flag, three registered under the flag of Panama, and one each under the flags of Belize and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The measures also target the vessels’ owners and captains, as well as companies involved in exporting the grain.

Ukraine said it would provide its international partners with information needed to coordinate the sanctions across jurisdictions.

“The illegal export of Ukrainian grain from the temporarily occupied territories must have consequences for everyone involved – from companies and owners to captains and vessels. We expect our international partners to prevent this grain from entering their markets,” said Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Adviser-Commissioner to the President of Ukraine for Sanctions Policy.
