Ukraine procurs equalizer guided aerial bomb - Video

Ukraine has begun officially procuring its domestically developed “Equalizer” guided aerial bomb for the Armed Forces after the weapon completed the required testing.

Axar.az reports that in an interview with Ukrinform, Colonel Vladyslav Voloshyn, head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Central Directorate for Innovation, said Ukraine is also developing around 10 other advanced precision-guided aerial weapons to reduce Russia’s advantage in the use of guided bombs.

“Today, around a dozen promising examples of similar weapons are being developed in Ukraine. All domestic developments are significantly cheaper than Western counterparts, and this will allow us to rapidly increase production,” Voloshyn said.

He said Russian forces used an average of about 180 guided aerial bombs per day in 2025, while the figure has now exceeded 300 per day.

Voloshyn said Ukrainian guidance and correction modules can turn conventional aerial bombs into precision weapons capable of striking targets deep behind enemy lines. Ukrainian Air Force crews have conducted hundreds of sorties to test the new weapon systems.

“The products have already passed all the necessary tests, confirmed their effectiveness and are officially being procured for delivery to the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” he said.

The Equalizer was developed by Ukrainian company DG Industry. The bomb has a 250-kg warhead, a reported range of 10 to 130 kilometers and costs nearly three times less than the US-made JDAM.
