Britain would continue to provide full support to Ukraine after Russia warned of consequences over the use of British-made drones in recent Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory.

Axar.az reports, citing the BBC, that UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said on Tuesday.

“We are not fair-weather friends, we will be there in Ukraine’s hour of need and that won’t change,” Burnham said.

He said the UK was “providing support so that Ukraine can defend itself,” adding that this had been the British position throughout the conflict.

The Russian Embassy in London accused Britain of “deliberately opting for an escalation of the Ukraine crisis” and warned that “the deeper its involvement in the conflict... the higher the price it will pay.”

“London’s actions will inevitably carry consequences for which it will have to answer,” the embassy said, without specifying what measures Moscow was considering.
