Russian strikes Zhytomyr police headquarters kills two

A Russian drone strike on the headquarters of Ukraine’s National Police in Zhytomyr killed two police officers and injured at least 20 people on Wednesday.

Axar.az reports, citing Kyiv Post, that Russian forces struck the building with Banderol-type jet-powered drones.

“Zhytomyr came under a cynical attack by Russian forces — the enemy struck with Banderol-type drones,” Tsutskiridze said.

The strike caused a fire on the roof and fourth floor of the regional police headquarters, while police officers, first responders and other emergency services worked at the scene.

Zhytomyr Oblast Governor Vitalii Bunechko also confirmed that Russian forces had attacked the city with jet-powered drones and that the regional police headquarters had been hit.
