Iran executes Afghan national over Isfahan unrest

Afghan national who was involved in the December 2025 protests was hanged in Iran.

Axar.az reports, citing Mizan news agency, that the outlet identified Ghaem Hosseini as a “foreign national” involved in the Alikhani Square incident in Isfahan, which resulted in the deaths of four police officers.

Hosseini was convicted of “drawing a weapon and creating fear and insecurity,” “acting against national security,” and other charges, including damaging public property and conspiring against national security.

His death sentence was upheld by Iran’s Supreme Court and carried out this morning.
