Zelensky sanctions ‘Masha and the Bear’ creators

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed four decrees imposing sanctions on Russian military-industrial enterprises, companies linked to the Rusal group, Russian officials and collaborators, as well as the creators and distributors of the animated series “Masha and the Bear”.

Axar.az informs that the Office of the President said the sanctions target dozens of Russian individuals and companies, as well as one Chinese company involved in supplying equipment, components and raw materials to Russia’s military-industrial complex in circumvention of sanctions.

Ukraine also sanctioned five Rusal-linked companies and nine Russian citizens associated with them.

Sanctions were additionally imposed on five Russians and four organizations involved in producing and distributing “Masha and the Bear,” which Ukrainian authorities say promotes pro-Russian narratives aimed at children.

Ukraine will provide its partners with information to synchronize the sanctions internationally.
