Oman, Iran discuss regional developments and Hormuz

Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi held a telephone call with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, on August 21 to discuss the latest regional developments.

Axar.az reports, citing Oman's Foreign Ministry, that the ministers discussed ways to create favourable conditions for the resumption of dialogue and negotiations.

They also discussed efforts to bring the parties’ positions closer together and find peaceful solutions to outstanding issues that take into account the interests of all sides.

They also discussed navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and stressed the importance of continued talks to reach practical understandings that would support the restoration of freedom of navigation, facilitate trade flows, and promote regional security and stability.
