Iran says it does not interfere in Iraq’s internal affairs

Iranian Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Tehran does not interfere in Iraq’s internal affairs.

Axar.az informs, citing Iranian media, that Ghalibaf said in a statement, adding that Tehran would support any agreement reached between the factions and Baghdad.

“Iran supports agreements independently reached by groups and political actors inside Iraq within the framework of the country’s Constitution,” he said.

The Iranian parliament speaker also said the withdrawal of foreign military forces from Iraq had reached its final stage.

According to him, the US military presence in the region and Israel’s activities do not ensure regional security but instead increase instability.
