Two French diplomats expelled from Iran

Iran has ordered two French diplomats to leave the country and barred them from returning.

Axar.az reports, citing Fars News, that Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Iran had taken the measure after determining that the two diplomats had acted beyond their responsibilities and interfered in Iran’s internal affairs.

“We officially announced that the two diplomats who committed misconduct must leave Iran and will not be allowed to return,” Baghaei said.

He said relations between countries should be based on mutual respect and compliance with international law, including the principle of non-interference in domestic affairs.
