Saudi Arabia-owned tanker attacked in Red Sea

An oil tanker was attacked by an “unknown projectile” off the coast of Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, on Monday, causing a fire on the vessel, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency.

Axar.az reports that the agency said it received a report of an incident 63 nautical miles west of Yanbu.

A company security official said the tanker was struck by an unknown projectile, causing a fire on the main deck.

All crew members were safe, and no environmental damage was reported.
