UK approves transfer of SCALP technology to Ukraine

The UK has approved the transfer of technology needed to produce Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles to Ukraine, UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said on Monday.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that speaking in Kyiv during a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, Burnham said Ukraine had requested access to the technology to develop its own production capability.

He said British and French defense companies would work with Ukraine to develop the technology and establish local production.

Storm Shadow, known as SCALP in France, is a long-range air-launched cruise missile manufactured by European defence company MBDA.
