Ukraine not considering mobilization of women

Ukraine has no plans to introduce the mobilization of women.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that there are currently no legislative initiatives, draft laws or internal discussions concerning the mobilization of women.

According to the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, statements by individual officials about potentially mobilizing women do not reflect parliament’s position or ongoing legislative work.

“Mobilization of women in Ukraine is not being carried out, prepared or considered,” the committee said, stressing that women join the country’s Defense Forces exclusively on a voluntary basis.

The statement came after former Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov and former US special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg recently expressed support for the idea of expanding military service to women.
