Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref said that the Strait of Hormuz belongs to Iran and is Iranian territory.

Axar.az reports, citing Iranian media, that Aref said Iran does not have a strategy based on warmongering but is prepared to defend itself if a war is imposed on it.

“If a war is imposed on us, we will defend ourselves well, and anyone who dares to start a war will certainly have to regret their action,” he said.

“Today, our young people are seeking to exercise their own property and rights; the Strait of Hormuz belongs to Iran and is Iranian," Aref said.

He added that others should not be allowed to make decisions about the rights of the Iranian people based on their own interpretations.
