US President Donald Trump has said he does not believe Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is dead, amid reports and speculation about his condition.

Axar.az reports that Trump made the remarks in an interview with conservative radio host Glenn Beck.

“I don't think he's dead. He was very seriously wounded. The left side of his body, the arm, the leg, the whole thing. He was very seriously wounded, but I don't think he's dead,” Trump said.

Trump added that if Khamenei were dead, Iranian officials were “putting on a pretty good show” by continuing to discuss seeking his approval for decisions.

“But you make a deal with them, it's not the most honorable group, I will tell you that,” Trump said.

Trump also claimed that the US had “taken out 22 boats” the previous night and said Washington’s military and financial strength were contributing to what he described as an approaching “very big victory.”

“And those things are going toward a very big victory. We had the victory in Venezuela, and we're going to have a big victory here very soon,” he said.
