Two killed in violence at German school, suspect arrested

Two people have been killed in a violent incident at a private school in Gosen-Neu Zittau, Brandenburg.

Axar.az reports, citing Bild, that the incident occurred at the Docemus private school campus at around 1:45 p.m. Thursday, prompting a large police and emergency response. The area was cordoned off.

The victims were an 18-year-old female student and a 30-year-old man. The man died while attempting to stop the suspected attacker.

Police have provisionally arrested a 19-year-old man, who is the former boyfriend of the 18-year-old victim. German media reported that the incident may have involved a knife, although police have not yet confirmed the circumstances.

Authorities said they currently believe there is no further danger to students or teachers.
