Erdogan, Tokayev discuss bilateral ties, regional issues

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed bilateral relations and regional issues during a phone call Thursday.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that Erdogan congratulated Tokayev on the Kurultai elections held on Aug. 23, saying the high voter turnout demonstrated public support for the ongoing reforms.

He also said Turkiye would continue efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with Kazakhstan further.
