Russian President Vladimir Putin said hybrid vehicles will likely become the most popular type of transport in the future.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Russian President Vladimir Putin made the remarks during a meeting with workers at a plant in Nizhny Novgorod.

“In Europe, they are considering whether it is right to put all efforts into electric transport... In the future, it will most likely be hybrid. And for us, gas-powered vehicles are the most promising,” Putin said.

Hybrid vehicles combine an internal combustion engine with an electric motor, while gas-powered vehicles use natural gas as fuel.
