At least 27 people have been killed and 42 others injured after a Russian attack and subsequent explosions in Kyiv Oblast’s Bucha district.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that Kyiv Oblast Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko said the death toll could rise.

Among those killed was Taras Didych, head of the Dmytrivka hromada, who was one of the first officials to arrive at the scene.

The injured include four children, while seven people have been hospitalised.

A total of 381 people, including 59 children, were evacuated from the affected area.

Rescue and firefighting operations, including the dismantling of damaged structures and searches for people, are continuing. Initial reports indicate that about 50 residential buildings were damaged.

The explosions occurred on the evening of August 28, when a warehouse caught fire in the Bucha district, prompting the closure of the M-06 Kyiv-Chop motorway between kilometres 15 and 32.

The death toll from Russia’s strike on the Bucha district of Ukraine’s Kyiv region has risen to 37.

Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Timur Tkachenko said this on his Telegram channel.

According to him, efforts to deal with the aftermath of the strike are continuing at the site.

Search-and-rescue and recovery operations are ongoing.
